Beta #2 is 490! This is a good rise, with a doubling rate of 32 hours. We are done with betas now. We have to wait until Dec. 21st for our first u/s, as they like to make sure that it's late enough to hear the heartbeat. Then S will be likely be leaving for India. This is still a little surreal, I just can't believe how lucky we are. We are so incredibly grateful, and worried that we make it look too easy. ;)
I went back to my acu last night for the first time since my post-ET visit. She was so excited! She was pleased that I'm already having nausea, headaches, backaches, fatigue, extreme hunger, and not sleeping all that well. She's going to help me out. She loved my "pregnant pulse" which she described as being "slippery". I'd never heard that before, but I trust her that it's good. She also lit up when I said that I feel like I'm plugged in and being charged. She explained that according to Chinese medicine, where yin is the cool and calm, and yang is the hot and hyper, babies are 100% yang. I think I might be 100% yin, maybe that's why I feel so wild.
Sooooooo exciting!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome number!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey woman, I actually didn't read any books or take any classes to prepare for birth. I did take a childbirth class, but we didn't learn lamaze or breathing or relaxation (or really anything, LOL). People delivered babies long before the web and Barnes and Noble, so I didn't bother to try to research the crap out of delivery. I'm pretty organic when it comes to what I allow near my body, so I kind of just naturally fell into the camp that wasn't going to self-medicate.
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing a prenatal chiro since week 14 which I think is the reason that both of my babies have been vertex for the last 17 weeks.
I just firmly believe that the safest way for a woman to deliver is through the hole god created - you know, assuming your baby isn't upside down or sideways or has it's cord wrapped around it in a precarious fashion. All joking aside, I don't really believe that it's safer for twins to be born via cesarean if baby A is vertex. I think that c-sections are major surgery, they have steep recovery times and require painkillers PP to just make it through the day. All of which I don't think will help me keep up with my babies following their birth.
Doctors are quick to do sections for multiples moms because it's less of a liability for them. But I don't think that they are the better option if another option exists.
I also don't think that chemically induced labor (i.e. pitocin) or chemicals which stop labor (i.e. epidurals) are safe and healthy choices. I think that pitocin speeds up labor, skipping you past transition and the stage that your body warms you up to prepare for birth and I think that epidurals numb you so that you can't read your body's clues that tell you when to push and when to rest.
For me, I guess, I just think that my body will know what to do and I need to listen to it. Unfortunately I have to have an epidural placed for my delivery, per my OB's orders. But I will keep it as low dose as possible.
I know that this response is probably more judge-y and less helpful than you were hoping. GL as you figure out what your birthing and labor style is.
