Love and hate

I hope everyone is having a great Valentine's Day, and had a great weekend.

We had a lovely time at The Pen. Seriously, every time I go there I want to go up to someone and offer them everything I have just to live there, quietly in a small closet. I love that place. Now back to reality...

As we were getting ready to head out the door on Saturday, I get an EOB in the mail for the testing that we had done on the baby by GSN. Of course the nearly $3K in charges was confirmed by yours truly to be covered on the very day of the loss, but some administrative snafu, as always seems to happen, kept this from being taken care of as it should have been and now I get to add it to my list of things to do.

I'm not going to bag on insurance companies, as they are necessary evil in our system, and I work for one (and have for several others over the last several years, including BCBS), but after the call I got a few weeks ago wanting to sign me up for their maternity program after all of the time I've spent with them on the phone the last several weeks talking about my m/c claims and them paying said claims, you'd think they'd have a little bit more of a clue. I hate dealing with things (esp. admin work and insensitive phone calls) that are the result of other people not doing their job properly.
