The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

MLK Jr. day
"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope"
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
I am very disappointed that my employer has decided, inexplicably, to stop recognizing today's holiday this year. And not just because I have to work. I've worked places that did and others that didn't, but to just stop one year, is just bizarre. Reason #947528 why this place is messed up.
Anywho, I hope you like the QOTD...

We have made our WTF/next steps mtg. with Dr. S for this Thursday (3 wks post-m/c). My hCG should be very near zero by then (it was 51 last Thurs.) and I'm eager to find out what he is willing/able to test us for and what we'll need to go elsewhere to have done, if anything. I have gotten the names of two local reproductive immunologists if we need them. But I have a feeling that he'll be accommodating, so we'll see. I am actually excited to cycle again, partly because I think the only thing that will help us get over what has happened is to get pg again (and hopefully have it stick) and that now I know that IVF is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
Also, the whole one shot with insurance was a huge pressure to the last round and well we know how that turned out. We are planning, as of now, to do shared risk, which unfortunately will be like $20K OOP (eek!) for round one, but we have the "luxury" of knowing that all doesn't ride on this cycle. We'll have more chances if it doesn't work, and get a lot of the $ back, if we bomb out completely.
The acupuncture has helped a lot with the bleeding and the headaches. I will be going back again this week. :)

John Lennon quotes
Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.
The more I see the less I know for sure.
You're just left with yourself all the time, whatever you do anyway. You've got to get down to your own God in your own temple. It's all down to you, mate.
When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream.
A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.
All you need is love.

A little hope...
"...suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us..." Romans 5: 3-5
My dad always likes to remind me that tough times breed character. And my typical reply is "...but I've got character coming out my ears, it would be nice if things were easy once in awhile."
But what we were forgetting was the last piece, that character gives you hope, which inexplicably (or so I thought) I also have in spades. I never really understood why, as it makes no logical sense.
N.B. I'm not a big bible reader, so thanks to my HS friend Sarah H., for posting this today on FB. :)

QOTD
"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!"
